Introduction
Narrative Agents in Subtxt offer a push-button experience for those who want the entire story creation process handled automatically. Perfect for writers looking to streamline their workflow, these AI-powered agents can take your basic story idea and transform it into a fully fleshed-out narrative. All you have to do is sit back and let the agents do the work from start to finish.
Getting Started with Narrative Agents
To begin, select the Narrative Agents module located on the Story Central page.
From here, you have two options:
- Generate a Complete Story: Enter your story idea and let the agents build a full narrative based on your input.
- Generate a Random Story Idea: If you don’t have a specific idea, Subtxt’s AI will suggest one for you, leveraging its deep understanding of narrative structure.
Once you choose either option, the system sends instructions to Subtxt’s servers, and the Narrative Agents start generating your story. You’ll be able to watch them work in real-time as they create each part of your story step-by-step.
Reviewing the Generated Story
After the agents have completed their work, you’ll be taken to the Complete Story screen, where you can review the generated output.
Your story will be broken down into the Four Throughlines—the Objective Story, Main Character, Influence Character, and Relationship Story. These elements are seamlessly blended together to form a synopsis at the top of the screen. Subtxt’s user-friendly interface keeps the high-level narrative at the top, while more thematic depth is placed below.
If any part of the story doesn't align with your vision, you can tweak the individual Throughlines and re-blend the story to achieve the desired results.
Narrative Agent Progress Bar
Subtxt's Narrative Agent Progress Bar is a visual guide that tracks your progress through seven essential steps of story creation. Even though the agents do all the heavy lifting, the Progress Bar ensures you know exactly where you are in the process.
